life imitates art and art comes to life

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

     T
his site along with each performance is the co-creation of several fine individuals.  From the people at the day care where I first got  that stick of white face paint to the  person who just "surfed" this way.  I feel it important to mention some of the keys players. Of course this is only a portion of a long ever-stretching list from my journal of graditude.
First is the importance of family.  Reading The Story of Plasterman you note how my sister and brother have played key roles.  Of course parents and other sibblings have been very instrumental in the shaping of my character in both life and performance.
There is an ongoing feeling of gratitute towards the city of Victoria.  While along Government or the Inner Harbour, the inhabitants and been generous in their encouragement and resources.  No matter how far I travel, I always enjoy returning to my home town.

First off, a big shout out to all the staff at Prince of Whales for their kindness and support.  Amoungst the many other buskers and artists it has been, and continues to be, great working along side such wonderful people as Hilarie (the mesmerizing mermaid), Country Dave, Swan, David, Karen, Jamie, Katherine, K.C.,  Teddy, Ian, Jim, Kathleen, Dean, Aaron, Claire, (the copper cowgirl) and many others.  You guys are awesome.

hile I don't know whether I should get a cut from Kodak and HP or they from me, I appreciate all the pictures that have been taken over the years.  Thank you for adding me to your scrapebooks and photo albums.  A note of appreciation especially to the professional work of photographers Lori Ditlefsen and Nic Hume.
     A
strong meassure of appreciation goes to every fair, festival, or other event that has invited me to come and entertain.  Special mention to Jim Baron in Lynden;  Judy Woodle in Wilsonville; Candus Barnum in Puyallup;  Jim and Debbie in Arapahoe; Fred Puglia in Decatur; Lori and Denise in Contra-Costa; John, and especially Ken and Donna Paulsen in Monticello; Mark in Sioux Falls; Jayk, Sandy, Tiffany and Holly in Imperial Valley, Jim in Marin County; Steve in Hendricks County; Gary in Big Piney.  Next to mention after these fine folks are the talent agencies.  A big salute goes to Dale and crew at Integra; Craig and company at Pacific Rim; and Linda, Kelly, Scott, Todd, Todd and all the fine  talent with That's Entertainment International.
During the 90's before I began performing the living statue there were three influences that lead me to being a full-time entertainer.  They shaped my character both in life and for performance.  First was the relationship with my then-wife.  While we are no longer married, the time we spent together was filled with bliss, adventure, challenges conquered, and simple wonder.  The second, which began in 1987, was my work with the Impromaniacs Theatre Company.  Many thanks to Bill, Jonathan, Dianne, Robert, James, Melissa, Andrea.  And third, my work with the kind and generous souls at Centenial Day Care.  Su, you're the best!

here are several others that don't fit into any particular category because they are special in ways unique to all others.  Most importantly, my fantastic son who keeps me honest and happy;  Mr Mats, the janitor who taught me that often it is the simple tasks that are most needed to be done;   Mr. Price who taught so many how to be both real and creative;  and the enduring and strong friendship of Gord Bestwick.
While there are many others, the list could not be complete without huge thanks to my coffee buddy and favourite stroyteller, who has motivated me beyond meassure.  Thanks, Gorgeous.  We love the way you shine.
