Frequently Answered Questions
Q: How many characters have you performed as? While Plasterman is the primary character, I have also gone out as Agent Sterling (silver), Moe Zaik (mosaic), Gus Smudges (yellow with purple highlights), and The Mad Spatter (splattered like a Jackson Pollack). That would make five. I have enough for a basketball team.
QWhen did you start peforming as a living statue? A: Spring 2000. You can check out the rest of the story on the Story of Plasterman page.
Q: Does it get hot in your costume? A: Yes! Yes it does. Especially when the temperature goes about 80' without a breeze. I don't even bring out my silver character - Agent Sterling - unless it is under 75'.
Q: How can you stand so still? A: Combination of having the right metabolism rate, muscle control, healthy living, and being confortable with my own thoughts.
Q: What is that on your face? A: I use Mehran Clown White. It is made for daily use. With ingredients such as mineral oil, talc, lanolin and beeswax, it's almost like having a facial.
Q: What is the longest you have stayed still? A: I was hired once for an opening of a store and I stood without moving during the opening presentation which lasted about 45 minutes. Another time I was hired for an outdoor reception; part of which included formal introductions of a large number of the delegates from the different regions in the organization. This lasted close to an hour. I think the people who sat through the introductions felt less bored knowing I was standing there, not moving, the whole time. Q:What happens when it rains? A: Fortunately, the make-up is waterproof and the suit has a layer of protection that helps when it is just a light drizzle. When the rain falls heavy, the crowds thin and I join them under shelter or I either finish for the day or resume performing when the skies clear.
Q: How much do you make? A: That amount varies from day to day. I do make enough to call it my profession. However, if you are wanting to hire me, let me know. I'll talk with the good folks at That's Entertainment International and we can work something out.
