THOUGHTS FROM THE BOX

October 5, 2011
The range of perfection is the measure between what you cannot change and that which you wish not to.

June 6, 2011
The difference between two and three is: with two the objective is to acheive symetry while with three it is to create balance.

While it may appear wonderful to look at our lives and say that "My cup runeth over," it is also a trap.  When you take a glass and fill it till it runs over, a mess is created. Then there are two problems. One is that there is a mess to clean and secondly, if the cup is constantly running over, it is very difficult to drink from.  I have discovered that when I fill my life to the point that my cup runeth over, then I also see that I don't have enough time to enjoy all the wonderful joy with which that cup is filled.
Thus, I have been endevouring to encorporate on of  Lao Tzu's  approaches to life into mine - knowing when to stop pouring is the way to heaven.

To succeed is to reach perfection, otherwise it is merely practice.

The only real relationship you can have in this life is with yourself. Everything you do with another or others is shared experience or communication.

God will give you all that you desire as long as you only desire what God wants to give you. If you do not believe this to be true, then simply change your definition of God.

It is oft said that behind every great man is a great woman. May I add, behind every great woman is a man who knows [how] to get out of her way.

And help give meaning to this rhyme.

Explaining Spiritual Evolution

Could Evolution simply be the Author of the Universe drawing us back home?
With each generation we get closer to returning back to what we were when we began so many years ago. Over an unfathomable amount of time we have gone from simple amoeba (or whatever it was that was the first living replicating organism at the implausable begining of the known universe) simply existing, seemingly without thought or concerns of our  future to this complexity of cells we can humans.  We are now in an age in which we life longer and have time to devote to the growth of our souls - the spiritual self that connects thoughts and feelings. We are encouraged to invest in ourselves beyond our physical and social needs.  We are advancing up the Heirarcy of Needs towards self-actualization.  This elevation is no longer reserved for the deep thinking published authors.  It is for all of us.  More are discovering the challenging journey to discover the intent of our soul, both as individuals and a universe.  As we go deeper into this exploration we have to shed off more and more of the things of this world that pull us off track.  It is difficult as the cocophany of this world is so enticing.  The proliferation of all things is further proof of Evolution.  At some point it may become so much that it all becomes one sound and one image, without distinctions.  The further we engage in our constant search to know more and fill our senses with more the more we realize how pointless an endevor this becomes as there is always more to experience and how can one experience be measured as better than another.  We rely on our physiology to deturmine this and are drawn away from our spritual selves.  We can spend our lives appeasing our physiolical body or we can recognize that we have developed, as human, to a point in which we can further evolve.  Of course we will continue to take care of those needs, this needs to be remembered throughout our spiritual journey.  We have to feed the body and let it eliminate, as it is what holds our souls (a.k.a. the connection of thoughts and feelings).  The question to every human is whether you want to just appease your physiological desires or evolve yourself.  The joy of this age is the growing number of people wanting to understand their spiritual identities.  To study humanity is to recognize this shift in consciousness that has come about over several generations to where it approaches the norm to seek greater self-actualization.  We seek to further develop our spiritual identies.  The cacophony of the world become as one massive canvas upon which there is so much paint it becomes as one image and it is without colour as much as it is of all colours.   It is when we are still with our eyes closed and start to think of everything that this image will emerge in our mind and we have a choice of feeling overwhelmed or blending it all together and feel surrounded by this beauty of dark and light.  Then we need to recognize that we are part of this blend; that each of our lives adds strokes to that massive canvas.  Eventually this realization will bring peace of mind.  It will become a place in which we want to remain.  When we open our eyes and engage ourselves with the world we will see all things as part of a whole and delight in how they are both unique and equal.  The mind will experience greater calm.  The joys of this world will blend beautifully.  Our physical body will stop controling us and driving us to spend all it`s time appeasing desires of the flesh. Once we allow ourselves to experience the intensity of everything we will be lead to experience the uphoria of nothing.  Once again, in that moment we will be like the amoeba that simply exists in the experience of the moment.   We will be drawn back to becoming what was first created to bring about the birth of the Universe.

In this Grand Illusion there is one constant truth and one lie...

The truth being, we cannot control it.

The lie being, we are controlled by it.

Everything we experience is the desire/will of our collective thoughts and feelings to have meaning.

Our Collective Thoughts and Feelings (plural) are merely the workings of our Eternal Soul (singular).  It has been given so many names and has been so bastardized that the lie has been able to be perpetuated to the degree we fail to understand the function of having a human experience.  Accepting the lie prevents us from having a more complete human experience, thus denying the desires of our Soul.

Embracing the truth allows us to live a complete life.  In the Grand Illusion we really only have control over our own thoughts and feelings.  When we become dissatisfied with our own, we seek to control the thoughts and feelings and consequently the actions of others and thus enter into Special Relationships. Let us do our best to avoid these.

Our Soul desires for us to embrace life - to accept all the joy and the pain, the delights and the hardships, the challenges and the victories. To accept them as part of the human experience, giving meaning and justification to the existence of Time.

It is my prayer (a prayer being communication between the individual soul and the Eternal Soul which could also be called The Collective Agreement) that each of us does that which enriches our soul, enriches the souls of others and allows others to enrich our souls.  Maybe,  it is when we are able to live in such a fashion that we will understand why the Grand Illusion was ever created and why it is our function to be happy.
